Technical Information

Is your maximum space for storage 5GB?
Definitely not. We have the Basic or Power plans which are 1GB and 5GB respectively. As a subscriber of these plans you may add additional space in either 1GB or 5GB increments. There is no limit as to how many "chunks" of additional space you may purchase.

Does your backup software offer encryption?
Your data is transmitted securily using SSL. The Auto Backup software we provide offers 256-bit encryption on all files. In addition you can password-protect these files up to 21 characters. For more information about AutoBackup view the following link: http://www.flashbackup.com/download.html. This software allows for scheduled backups based upon users criteria.

Do you offer FTP or WebDAV?
Yes, we do offer those features. They are available to users in the 30-day free trial as well as the Basic and Power plans. FlashDrive uses the WebDAV components and allows a customers to drag and drop files from their PC to their FlashBackup account. You can access your files through WebDAV using the FlashDrive link inside the Filemanager. You can access your files through FTP by connecting to vault.flashbackup.com, using your email address as your username.

Does FlashBackup work on a Mac?
Yes. Since the Filemanager is web-based, it will work from any computer, regardless of the operating system used. FlashDrive uses the standard WebDAV protocol, so it will also work from most computers. To access FlashDrive from a Mac, simply install a WebDAV client like Goliath, and log into https://secure.flashbackup.com/flashdrive/ using WebDAV and your email address as your username.

Credit Card Issues

Why do you need my credit card for the 30 day Free Trial?
Providing Disaster Recovery for Data requires very high security. The security checks we perform on your credit card and others insure that we know who the users are on our system reducing the risk of security breaches. At the end of 30 days if you do not cancel we will bill you for the 1GB plan.

Is my credit card data secure?
Yes, we encrypt your credit card number. Your credit card is also stored behind our firewall and is only accessible by our most trusted accounting employees who are also owners.

Can I change my credit card number once entered into the system?
Yes, you may log into the secure billing manager and modify your personal information at https://secure.flashbackup.com/billing/ under My Finance –> Update My CC

Can I pay for my account by Check?
You can pay for only yearly products by check. Please send your check to: Flashbackup LLC, 2024 Red Prairie Dr. Edmond, OK 73003

Why do you give away a 30 day Free Trial?
We do it so you can decide if our service meets your needs before you pay.

Why is your pricing so much better than the competition?
The most expensive part of any service is support. We have made Flashbackup incredibly easy to use thereby for the most part not requiring live phone technical support. We do have 7x24 technical support personnel that respond to trouble tickets and critical issues.

If I need technical support, how do I get it?
The fastest way to get support is to send an email to support@flashbackup.com. If you need to report an outage or have a more complex question, please call us at (800) 903-8133. Select the appropriate action from the main menu.

How do I know my data is secure?
First of all, we use SSL secure pages for all file management activities. Our archive software Autobackup uses 256-bit encryption that allows you to set your own password that only you know.

Account Information

How do I change my password?
Login to the Billing Manager. Go to My Info –> Change My Password. Enter your new password, verify the password and confirm with your current password, then submit.

I forgot my password, how do I retrieve it?
Go to the billing manager login page. An email will be sent to your email address with your password information.

Upgrade Packages

How do I upgrade from the 30 day Free Trial to the Basic Plan?
At the end of 30 days, you will automatically be upgraded to the Basic Plan. The current Credit Card we have on file will be billed. If you wish to Change your Credit Card Number please see the FAQ for changing Credit Card Numbers.

How do I add additional space to my account?
Log in to File Manager and select Upgrade Service. Your options will be to add 1 Gig or 5 Gig additional space. You may select monthly or yearly billing. You will be directed to the Order Summary page and as an existing customer simply enter in your current email address and your account will be upgraded with the new package. The current Credit Card we have on file will be billed. If you wish to Change your Credit Card Number please see the FAQ for changing Credit Card Numbers. You may continue to go through this process each time you need to add additional space.

Cancel Account

How do I cancel my account?
Log into the File Manager, click on the Cancel Service link, and confirm that you want to cancel. Cancelled accounts will not be credited their pro-rated balance.

Flash Backup FAQ

Q: Why do you need my credit card for the Free Plan?

A: To validate you as a legitimate user, we must validate your credit card periodically.

Your card will not be charged and is only authorized to prevent fraudulent and abusive users from accessing the Flash Backup services.
